Gardening in December

Picking fresh salad greens in December? Sure!

Participants in the playgroups at Malletts Bay School, picked a variety of dark greens from the MBS garden (now called the Osprey Patch) on December 17. The greens were then brought to MBS’s kitchen and offered in the salad bar.

MBS art teacher Jenny Bittner, who serves on MBS’s garden committee, took the playgroup out to interact with the garden as part of their activities for the day. As a friendly reminder, the playgroup operates every Monday and Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. during the school year and is open to all Colchester families for children ages 0–5!
